Turboant X7 Electric Scooter Review

Electric scooters have been all the rage lately. You see them all over the road, and everyone seems to be using them. With the increase in the demand for electric scooters, the number of companies producing electric scooters is also increasing, which makes it difficult for the consumer to distinguish the good ones from the bad ones. We received the Turboant X7 electric scooter and I used it for two weeks. Here are my thoughts on that.

Put-up

The scooter arrived folded in the box. When you remove it, you will find that the handlebar is not attached. (The overall length is too wide to fit in the box, so the handlebars are detached by default.) To unfold, press down on the fender to release the latch and pull the stem up.

Near the base of the rod there is a latch that you need to open before you can put the rod in the upright position.

Once in place, close the latch to lock it in place.

Then attach the handlebar to the handle. Both left and right handlebars can be screwed on. However, before attaching the left handlebar, you must secure the brake handle in place. (You will need the Allen key provided in the box.)

Before going for a ride, I was told to charge the battery and inflate the tire. The tire is a tubeless tire and only supports 50 psi of pressure. Only the rear wheel comes with a valve so you can pump it. There doesn't seem to be a way to pump the front wheel.

Move

Using the scooter is easy. If you've ridden a scooter before, you'll have no problem riding the X7. Before you start, long press the power button to turn it on. The dashboard LED will light up indicating that the device is powered on. Then just stand on it, step on the accelerator and it will slowly accelerate.

To brake, you can either release the accelerator, press the fender or hold the brake handle.

There are three drive modes:low, medium and sport. The difference between the three driving modes is in the maximum speeds they can achieve. In low mode (default) it can reach around 9 mph. Medium mode can reach around 15 mph and Sport mode around 19 mph. During my test drive, the top speed I reached for Sport mode was just 17 mph.

What I like about the X7 is the cruise control mode. When you press the accelerator for 6 seconds, it will activate cruise mode. You can let go of the throttle in cruise mode, and it will continue to move at a constant speed. To deactivate cruise mode, press the brake or press the accelerator again.

The X7 comes with a 350W motor and can easily cover a 15° slope. I tested it on a slope and it had no trouble conquering it.

Another thing I like is the engine noise. It is quiet. I owned two electric scooters before this and hated the sound of their motors. While driving X7, I barely hear the sound of the engine.

In addition, acceleration and deceleration are very smooth. There are no sudden stops when you let off the throttle, which can easily throw you off balance. I've had some serious accidents with my previous scooters, and this is a feature I always take note of when trying out new scooters.

One thing to note is that there is no easy way to switch between mph and kmh. The scooter I received is the US version and displayed speed in mph, whereas everywhere outside of the US the convention is km/h. After tinkering around, I still couldn't figure out how to change it. I was pretty sure it could be changed as the "kmh" icon was showing on the screen. It took several emails with support before I received instructions to access the hidden menu to change the speed metric.

Night mode

The X7 comes with front and rear lighting, which means you can drive it at night. Quickly press the Function button twice. and it will activate the front and rear lights. To turn it on, press the Function button twice quickly again.

Conclude

In short, it was a pleasure to ride the X7 electric scooter. Control is easy, the ride is smooth, and there's not a single thing I don't like. At a price of $499.99, it's probably not the cheapest escooter on the market, but it's definitely worth it, especially with the detachable battery that's not available in most escooters on the market. market.
