How the PS5 DualSense Controller Brings Your Spotify Music to Life Through Haptics on PC

The PS5's DualSense controller delivers immersive haptic feedback in games like Feedback and Demon's Souls. But as a longtime gamer and tech enthusiast, I recently discovered it can also pulse to your Spotify tracks when connected to a PC—a quirky feature that's surprisingly fun.

Stumbled upon this gem in a Reddit thread from six months back: simply plug in the DualSense, adjust a few Windows settings, and its haptic motors will vibrate in sync with music from the Spotify app on Windows 10. Hold it to your ear, and it's like a tiny rave with a hint of Astro Bot charm.

Grab your controller and give it a shot—I know I did. Just temper expectations: the haptics shine in games, not audio, so this is pure novelty.

  • Connect the controller to your PC via USB-C and let Windows install the driver automatically.
  • Click the speaker icon in the bottom-right taskbar, then select "Speakers (Wireless Controller)" as your audio output.
  • Open Control Panel > "Sound," select your audio output, and click "Properties" below it.
  • Go to the "Enhancements" tab, check "Speaker Fill," and hit "Apply."
  • Restart Spotify for haptic playback to kick in. Feel the vibes—and hear the motors buzz if you press it to your ear.
  • For audio too, plug headphones into the DualSense's 3.5mm jack. Audio routes through, setup looks goofy, but it works!

Try this track to experience it best. Click the Spotify logo in the top-right embed to open in the PC app:
