If you've just unboxed your Huawei Watch GT 2, these expert tips—drawn from my hands-on use—will help you unlock its full potential. Let's dive in.
The Huawei Watch GT 2 excels at tracking activities like walking, running, elliptical, and rowing. However, the built-in voice coach can be overly loud, announcing workouts to everyone nearby.
Luckily, you can adjust or mute it. Start any workout from the Workout screen, press the top button to pause, then tap the volume icon to lower or silence it. Enjoy distraction-free sessions.

Without a traditional always-on display, glancing at the time requires raising your wrist or pressing a button. Here's a clever workaround: the Sleep Watch Face keeps essential info visible in standby mode.

Navigate to Settings > Watch Faces > Advanced, then scroll to Sleep Watch Face. Choose your preferred style and color.

Next time it sleeps, time stays glanceable. Simple and effective.
Need the screen to stay lit longer? Swipe down from the top menu and tap the Show Time icon.

The display remains on for 10 minutes—perfect for quick references. Pro Tip: Use this during presentations or cooking.
By default, the lower button launches workouts. If fitness isn't your focus, repurpose it for timer, calls, contacts, weather, and more.
Go to Settings > Down Button, select your preferred function. In my GT 2, I set it to Contacts via the Huawei Health app, adding favorites for one-tap calling.

With onboard storage for up to 500 songs, ditch your phone on runs—just pair Bluetooth headphones. In Huawei Health, go to Music > Manage Music > Add Songs.

Bluetooth transfer happens in the background. Pair headphones via Settings > Headphones > Pair. The mono speaker works too, but wireless audio shines.

Bonus: Control phone apps like Spotify or Apple Music directly from the watch.
Switch phones without losing data? Sync Huawei Health with Google Fit or MyFitnessPal. In the app, go to Me > Data Sharing > Google Fit, and link your account.

No login required makes it seamless—future-proof your fitness history.
TruSleep tracks sleep stages (light, deep, REM) and offers improvement tips—not enabled by default. In Huawei Health, open App Details and toggle TruSleep on.
