Not every blog needs a dedicated Facebook Page. For personal blogs, you can use your Facebook profile's subscription feature to let readers follow you directly. Facebook offers a simple Follow button, similar to the Like box. A reader recently asked how to add this for authors in WordPress, so we're sharing our proven method.
For single-author sites, grab the code from Facebook's Social Plugins and add it to your theme, widget, or page. Multi-author sites require a few extra steps for dynamic author links.

The quickest way for a single-author WordPress site is to use Facebook's Social Plugins page. Enter your Facebook profile URL, and it generates a preview on the right. Select your layout, tweak the appearance, then click Get Code.
Copy the code from the tab and paste it into a widget, post, or page.
First, install and activate a Facebook plugin. It adds a Facebook menu in your WordPress admin sidebar, leading to settings where you'll enter your Application ID and Secret Key.
Head to the Facebook Developers site and log in. Click Create New App.
A popup asks for an app name (others optional). You'll land on the dashboard with your App ID and Secret Key—copy them for your plugin settings.
Navigate to Facebook » Follow Button. Choose display locations (posts, pages, archives, homepage) and positions (before/after content). Opt for author display on single posts. Select color scheme, width, and layout (Standard, Button Count, Box Count) to match your theme. Save changes.
Authors must link their accounts. Site admins: Go to Facebook » Social Publisher and click Associate your WordPress account with a Facebook account.
This opens a popup for permissions. Other authors connect via Users » Profile.
Beyond the Follow button, integrate Facebook Comments, Like button, or Send button for deeper engagement.
