Imagine announcing a party, product launch, or school event on Instagram. Before, you'd just post the date, time, and location. Now, with the Countdown Sticker, you create a live timer that keeps your audience excited and reminds them automatically.
It's perfect for events, sales, webinars, or any time-sensitive occasion, turning passive viewers into eager participants.
Adding a Countdown Sticker is as simple as any other. Swipe up in your Story to open the sticker tray, search for "Countdown," and select it.
For first-time use, customize a new one (details below). If you have existing countdowns, tap "Create countdown" to pick one.
Name your countdown descriptively—it's required. For extra details, layer on Story text overlays.
Set the end date by tapping the numbers and selecting from the calendar below.
For precision, disable "All day" on the calendar, then set the exact time and hit Done.
Customize the background by tapping the color palette icon repeatedly to cycle through options. Preset colors only—no custom picks yet.
Create multiple countdowns for different Stories—they run independently. Even after Stories expire (24 hours), countdowns persist in your profile.
To access them: Go to your camera, tap the sticker icon, select Countdown. View active and completed ones.
From the countdown list, tap the three dots on the one to delete, then select Delete.
Reuse saved countdowns anytime to keep the buzz going. From the list, tap to add it to your current Story.
Note: Existing countdowns can't be edited—create a new one if needed.
As a viewer, tap the sticker and select "Remind Me" for a push notification at countdown's end—no third-party apps required.
