Like emojis, stickers express emotions more vividly than text alone, and many include built-in text for added impact.
WhatsApp stickers offer robust features like favoriting, categorizing, and more. Drawing from hands-on testing on Android and iOS, we've compiled this comprehensive guide—no trial-and-error needed.

To send a sticker, tap the emoji icon beside the text input field. Alongside emojis and GIFs, you'll now see the sticker icon—tap it.
Note: Requires WhatsApp 2.18.329+ on Android or 2.18.100+ on iOS. Update your app for full access.
This opens the sticker panel. Simply tap any sticker to send it in individual or group chats.
Just like recent emojis, stickers have a dedicated recents tab. It's the first one at the top of the panel, marked by a clock icon.
In addition to favoriting chats, there's a star icon in the sticker panel for your go-to stickers.
To add one, long-press a sticker in its pack and select 'Add' from the menu.
Or, tap a sent/received sticker and choose 'Add to Favorites' from the popup.
Next to favorites is a heart icon for emoji-categorized stickers—like happy, sad, or love—grouped by facial expressions.
Send multiple stickers quickly, and WhatsApp auto-groups them to save chat space. Reopen the chat to see the bundle (manual pairing isn't available yet).
WhatsApp starts with one default pack, but you can expand your collection easily.
Open the sticker panel, tap the '+' in the top right, browse packs, and download your favorites.
If a sticker catches your eye in a chat, tap it to preview the pack and add it—or favorite if you already have it.
Downloaded packs appear under 'My Stickers.' Access via the sticker panel's '+' then 'My Stickers' tab.
Customize your order: In 'My Stickers,' drag packs using the four-line handle. Changes update the main panel instantly.
Declutter by tapping the delete icon next to unwanted packs in 'My Stickers.'
No—you only need to download a pack to send from it. View received stickers without installing.
Animated stickers aren't supported yet, but custom packs are on the horizon to bridge the gap.
