Handing your Samsung Galaxy phone to your child can feel risky—what might they access or change? Fortunately, Samsung's Kids Mode creates a secure, dedicated space just for them, keeping your device and data protected.
While there are many parental control tools available, Samsung Kids Mode stands out with its comprehensive features tailored for Galaxy phones and tablets. If you frequently share your device with kids, setting it up is a smart, essential step.
Samsung calls Kids Mode a "digital playground," and it's spot on. This feature provides a child-specific environment, essentially a separate user profile similar to those found on TVs or streaming services.
With a vibrant, kid-friendly interface, children can customize avatars and enjoy age-appropriate apps and games. Parents maintain full control through app restrictions, usage limits, and screen time management.
Imagine a kid-sized phone living inside your Galaxy device—accessible anytime, fully customizable, and inherently safe.
Access Kids Mode via Quick Settings. Swipe down twice from the top of your screen to expand the panel, then swipe right to an empty space with a + icon.

Locate the "Kids" tile at the top, drag it to your Quick Settings panel, and tap "Done" to confirm.

Now tap the "Kids" tile to launch. On the welcome screen, select "Start" to download required components.

Follow the intro prompts: Tap "Next" and enable "Add Samsung Kids to Apps screen" for easy access.

You're now in Kids Mode, resembling a standard Android home screen pre-loaded with kid-safe app icons. Tap any to install from the Galaxy Store.

For parental controls, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and select "Parental Controls."

Authenticate with your fingerprint or preferred secure method. Here, you can set limits, review usage stats, and manage child-created content.

To exit, tap the three-dot menu and choose "Close Samsung Kids," then authenticate again.

That's the foundation of Samsung Kids Mode. Take time to tailor it—even basic settings provide a highly restricted, safe experience. It's an invaluable tool on any compatible platform.
