Grammarly is one of the internet's top writing tools, helping users ensure their text is accurate and polished. While it's popular on desktops, mobile adoption has been limited—until now. Samsung and Grammarly have partnered to pre-install the grammar checker with One UI 4.0 on Galaxy devices.
"We've always been passionate about bringing consumers experiences that impact their lives in meaningful ways," says Hysoon Jeong, VP and Head of Mobile R&D Group in Samsung Electronics' Mobile Communications Business. "We are delighted to partner with Grammarly on this new tool to help Samsung users express themselves clearly and confidently in English as they connect with people around the world."
This integration raises privacy concerns for some users, as Grammarly will scan their text. Samsung highlights Grammarly's strong user privacy and security practices, including enterprise-grade certifications, scalability, uptime, and availability. However, this may not fully reassure everyone.
One UI 4.0 is expected to include an option to disable Grammarly, though Samsung hasn't confirmed it explicitly.
Samsung Galaxy owners can also enjoy a three-month free trial of Grammarly Premium, with the free version available afterward.
The feature rolls out first on Samsung Galaxy S21 devices—the initial recipients of One UI 4.0—with more phones following soon.
