How to Customize Text Size for Specific Apps on iPhone (iOS 15 Guide)

Sometimes you need smaller text to pack more content on screen, or larger text for easier reading—especially if reading glasses are on your shopping list. Until iOS 15, iPhone users were stuck with one text size across all apps. Not anymore.

With iOS 15, you can tailor text size per app. Keep email text compact while enlarging it in Twitter (or vice versa). Shoutout to @OmarShahine for highlighting this gem.

If you're on the iOS 15 public beta, here's how to set it up.

First, add "Text Size" to Control Center:

  • Swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center. Check for the "Text Size" button.
  • If missing, go to Settings > Control Center.
  • Under "More Controls," tap the green plus next to "Text Size" to include it.

  • Swipe up to close Control Center. Changes apply instantly to that app only.

To revert, reopen Text Size in Control Center and toggle to "All Apps"—this resets everything to the global size.
