Apart from its hardware prowess, the OnePlus 6 runs the latest OxygenOS 5.1, packed with powerful features. At Guiding Tech, we've thoroughly tested the OnePlus 6 and curated these expert tips to help you unlock its full potential effortlessly.

Let's dive in.
The notch has become a hotly debated design choice since the iPhone X. While the OnePlus 6 embraces it, you can easily hide it for a classic 18:9 display if it's not your style.

Head to Settings > Display > Notch display and toggle off "Hide notch area." The notch vanishes instantly—though, in my hands-on experience, it grew on me after a while. Give it a shot before deciding.

OnePlus 6 introduces Smart Folders, which automatically name home screen folders based on your apps. Drag Facebook onto Twitter, and it becomes "Social." The same applies to games, photography, travel, and more—a real time-saver.

Bonus: Tap the app drawer's search bar for Smart Tags tailored to your habits. Pure productivity magic from the OnePlus launcher.
Face Unlock on the OnePlus 6 is lightning-fast and convenient, but it can skip straight to the home screen, bypassing lock screen previews. Fix this easily.
After setup, it lands on the lock screen for notifications—swipe up to proceed or lock again.

Go to Settings > Security & lock screen > Face unlock and disable "Auto unlock after screen is on."
Enhance privacy by disabling USB OTG when idle—a smart, forward-thinking feature amid rising security concerns. I always enable this on my devices.

Navigate to Settings > Advanced > OTG storage and turn it off.
Inspired by the iPhone X, gesture navigation frees up screen space by ditching the nav bar—perfect for immersive viewing.

Go to Settings > Buttons > Navigation bar & gestures, select the gestures option, and wave goodbye to buttons. It takes practice, but you'll adapt quickly, as I did.
OnePlus has long excelled in gestures, and the 6 expands them further. From music controls to YouTube launches, customize away.

Access via Settings > Gestures. Pro tip: The three-finger screenshot is a game-changer.
Separate work and personal? Dual app instances make it seamless on dual-SIM setups.

Visit Settings > Apps > Parallel apps and enable supported apps.
Ambient Display (like Always-On) shows time and alerts on pickup—no wake-up needed.

It's effortless and battery-friendly in my testing.

Enable at Settings > Display > Ambient Display > Lift up display.
Run VoLTE on both SIMs simultaneously for calls on either.

Open SIM & network settings and toggle VoLTE on for both.
