Many bloggers start with Jetpack's straightforward email subscription tool. As your site grows, however, you'll need a robust email marketing platform like Mailchimp or AWeber for advanced features. A reader recently asked us how to transfer Jetpack subscribers to these services. In this proven guide, drawn from years of helping WordPress users, we'll show you exactly how to export your list and take full control for better engagement and deliverability.
Jetpack simplifies adding subscriptions to your WordPress site. But for sending newsletters, autoresponders, or targeted campaigns, you need a dedicated email service provider (ESP).
Building an email list is essential. Email remains the top channel for marketing and communication online, outperforming social media, blogs, and more in ROI, reliability, and open rates—backed by industry studies.
Why prioritize your email list? If you're not capturing emails yet, explore our in-depth guide on why every blogger needs one.
To migrate, first retrieve your subscriber emails. Log into your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Jetpack » Site Stats. Scroll to the Subscribers section at the bottom.

Click 'Blog Subscribers' to load the list. You'll see two groups: WordPress.com users (emails not viewable or exportable) and email-only subscribers (those who signed up via your Jetpack form).
Export the email-only list by clicking 'Download all email-only followers as CSV'.

Now import into your chosen ESP. Here's how for Mailchimp:
Log into Mailchimp, go to Lists. Click the dropdown next to your list name, then Import.

Select CSV or tab-delimited text file from the import options.

Upload your CSV file. Mailchimp auto-detects emails and adds them as subscribers.
The process is nearly identical for AWeber, Mad Mimi, and most providers.
This migration unlocks sidebar opt-ins, comment form integrations, and tools like OptinMonster to grow your list faster.
We've guided thousands of users through this—your list is now empowered for real results. For more WordPress tips, subscribe to our YouTube channel, follow us on Twitter, or connect on Google+.
