All that glitters is not gold

You might assume SHAREit is just for basic file sharing—think again. To truly harness its power, you need to explore its hidden gems. In this guide, drawn from extensive hands-on experience with the app across devices, we'll uncover nine pro tips to elevate your SHAREit usage on Android and iOS.
Let's dive in.
By default, SHAREit uses your device's name as your profile identifier. Personalize it easily with a custom name and avatar for a more professional touch.
Here's how:
Step 1: On Android or iOS, launch SHAREit and tap the profile icon in the top-left corner.

Step 2: From the slide-out menu, tap your profile picture again.

Step 3: On Android, enter your desired name and pick an avatar. For a custom image, tap the camera icon to take a photo or select from your gallery.

On iOS, tap the device name field to edit, then select or capture a new avatar via Camera or Albums.

Step 4: Tap Done on iOS or Save (top-right) on Android.
Selecting files one by one can be tedious. Both Android and iOS versions offer a Select All option next to category names for quick bulk selection.

SHAREit isn't limited to mobiles—transfer seamlessly to PC or Mac. Download the desktop app first. Access differs slightly by platform.
On iOS: Tap the profile icon or swipe right from the sidebar to find Connect PC/Mac, then scan the code on your computer.

On Android: Tap the top-right icon and choose Connect PC.

No app needed on the receiver's end? WebShare lets you share via a link. Sender and receiver must be on the same Wi-Fi (iOS) or hotspot (Android).
On iOS: Swipe right from sidebar to WebShare, share the link, and scan the receiver's code.

Receivers access your photos and more via drag-and-drop.

On Android: Top-right icon > WebShare, select files, connect receiver to your hotspot, and share the link.

Stop sending files one-by-one to friends. Android's Group Sharing lets everyone in the group exchange files effortlessly.
Top-right icon > Group Sharing > Create or Join a group.

Share Zone preloads videos, music, and APKs for instant access with connections. Edit via profile icon > Share Zone.

During transfers, tap Share Zone at the top to view the other party's files.

SHAREit includes a native photo viewer and media player. Tap any music or video file to play directly—no extra apps required.
Customize your feed on Android: Profile icon > Change content preferences > Select interests > OK.

Tame intrusive alerts: In-app Settings > Notification settings > Disable Receive notification.

Or via phone Settings > Apps > SHAREit > Notifications > Off.

Despite its strengths, SHAREit can feel cluttered with ads and extras. Explore alternatives for Android and iOS if needed.
